Effects of Allium , Merit Blue , and Soluble P-K Formulae on Budbreak of Grapevine Cuttings

|
|
Effects of Allium-based formulae such as garlic juice (G) and the extracts of ethanol (GAE) and ethyl ether (GEE), onion juice (O) and the extracts of ethanol (OAE) and ethyl ether (OEE), Merit Blue (M), and soluble PK formula 1 (PKl) and 2 (PK2) on days to budbreak (DTB) and 2 ㎝-growth (DT2), percent budbreak (%B) and percent cuttings with ≥2 ㎝-growth (%2) of ´Black Olympia´, ´Campbell Early´, ´Fujiminori´, ´Muscat Bailey A (MBA)´, and ´Sheridan´ grapevine cuttings were studied. Respective DTB of ´Black Olympia´, ´Campbell Early´, ´Fujiminori´, ´MBA´, and ´Sheridan´ cuttings of control were variable with 49, 57, 50, 46, 60 days, and DTB was reduced by all dormancy-breaking agents (DBA). The DTB of subjected cvs were shortened by respective 6-10 days, 3-10 days, 5-7 days, 2-5 days, and 15-17 days, showing the marked and even effects in ´Sheridan´ while ´MBA´ responded most poorly. The pattern of DT2 was similar to that of DTB, and the DT2 of tested cvs were hastened by respective 4-8 days, 4-11 days, 6-9 days, 2-6 days, and 16-18 days. Respective %B of ´Black Olympia´, ´Campbell Early´, ´Fujiminori´, ´MBA´, and ´Sheridan´ cuttings of control was variable with 71.7%, 60.7%, 81.3%, 78.0%, and 85.6%, and the %B and %2 were increased by all DBA. The %B of the cvs was increased by respective 10.7-25.8%, 7.0-36.6%, 5.2-18.0%, 1.5-21.0%, and 1.1-13.4%. The pattern of %2 was similar to that of %B, and the %2 of tested cvs were increased by 5.0-25.6%, 10.7-39.4%, 8.7-22.0%, 1.0-22.0%, and 0.8-17.2%, respectively.
